Father’s Day Gift Guide at the Rexburg Farmer’s Market.

Hey ya’ll!

It’s crazy to think it’s almost mid-June! That means Father’s Day is coming quickly (June 16th). Don’t worry if you haven’t planned anything special yet: the Rexburg Farmer’s Market has you covered. With everything from delicious meal options to one-of-a-kind gifts, we’re here to help you celebrate all the great dads in your life!

I didn’t buy you socks, promise!

Let’s be honest, dads are kinda over socks and ties every year. This year, do something as unique and cool as your dad!

Boyle’s Creations makes the best wood engravings. The key chains here are designed and created by the owner of the shop himself. While they may appear small, they are the perfect gift to remind your dad how much you love him every time he pulls out his keys.

Affordable luxury

Stanley Street Soap Co. is an amazing local artisan booth. While everything they do is great, their wet shave kits are the perfect gift. Each kit comes with a custom shave bowl, handmade shave brush, and lush shave soap. This gift will make shaving an experience rather than a chore.

How cute are these cards?

BB Cards has designed the cutest cards to send and share with all the dads in your life. This local business was started just last year as a way for her to share her art with everyone.

Yummmmm

Twila’s Gourmet Fudge is perfect for the dad with a sweet tooth. Always smooth and creamy, this fudge is made from the finest ingredients. The foodie dad in your life is sure to love this.

Daddy Dinner

Dads deserve more than just a great gift. Make him feel extra special by cooking a delicious meal with local ingredients.

Breakfast in the most important meal of the day! Why not try an omelet, hash browns, and some toast. Black Bear Family Farms has beautiful farm fresh eggs that pair perfectly with spinach from Roots and Grow Farm. The hash browns can be made with potatoes found at Food Dudes. Try making toast with the bread found at Great Harvest and topping it off with jam from either Roots and Grow Farm or Black Bear Family Farms.

After breakfast, spoil dad with a gourmet burger for lunch. Crowfoot J Ranch & Meats is having a Father’s Day special of two T-Bone steaks, two rib steaks, and three #’s of ground beef. Try making some gourmet burgers for lunch and topping them off with micro greens from Lucky Seven Farms.

Keep the meals rolling with dinner. As mentioned above, Crowfoot J Ranch & Meats has an amazing special this week. Grill the dad in your life a steak worthy of him. Food Dudes can help you find the perfect potatoes to mash. To finish off this meal, pair everything with a garden fresh salad. Try adding sweet crisp lettuce from Roots and Grown Farms, and kale from Black Bear Family Farms, to a salad mix from Lucky Seven Farms.

No matter how you choose to celebrate the father figures in your life, we hope everyone has an amazing holiday this weekend!

Happy Father’s Day from the Rexburg Farmer’s Market!

It’s Opening Day!

IMG_2900Thunderstorms forecast for the first Friday afternoon in May can only mean one thing . . . it’s opening day at the Rexburg Farmers Market!  Rain or shine, our dedicated vendors will be there bringing you their amazing goods!  We’re happy to begin our 7th season and grateful to our wonderful customers for their support.  We’ll be giving away free flowers for Moms while supplies last so come and say hi from 4-8 on South College Ave. in Rexburg

Cottage Food

There is a bill going through our legislature regarding Cottage food – like foods that can be made from your kitchen and sold at the farmer’s market (as I understand it).

We are urging people to get involved in the discussion of this bill. There will be several meetings held around the state about the bill.

See the link for the meetings that will be held closest to you and we hope you can attend at least one to hear the issues first hard for this bill.

Our annual Spring Vendor Meeting will be held Wednesday,  March 18, at 7:00 at the Tabernacle.  This is a mandatory meeting for all vendors, and anyone interested in becoming a vendor is welcome to attend as well.  If you know anyone who would make a great vendor at the market, send them our way!!

New Location

We have secured a new location for the 2014 season. We will be IN THE STREET on College Ave – you can’t miss us once you know where to look.

We are open and ready Friday nights 4-8 pm. We have LOTS of food items – dinner and goodies – great for an open air date night. We have lots of other fun things to sample and explore, and of course, we have our produce vendors selling fresh produce and bedding plants to help you get your garden growing with the best starts around.

Come see what is new this year at the market!

Market Season 2014

We are getting plans underway and wanted to let potential vendors know what is up:
Our market year will go from May 9 to October 17 (both Fridays).  Markets will be held Fridays from 4-8 pm again.

We have begun accepting applications, and will do so until March 13. We will also have our first general market vendor meeting to elect Board Members on Thursday Mar 13 at 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm. You can bring your application and fees to the meeting – just let us know on facebook if you are interested and what you might be selling. Let us know if you are also interested in being on the Market Board of Directors. We have two seats to fill this year.

Any applications received after March 13 will pay a higher market application fee.

We are looking for people to do more fresh cheeses (even fresh mozzarella), goat cheese, breads, flowers, pastries, muffins, and even produce. Anyone want to have a salad booth with a variety of fresh greens?

Let us know if you have questions.
