Father’s Day Gift Guide at the Rexburg Farmer’s Market.

Hey ya’ll!

It’s crazy to think it’s almost mid-June! That means Father’s Day is coming quickly (June 16th). Don’t worry if you haven’t planned anything special yet: the Rexburg Farmer’s Market has you covered. With everything from delicious meal options to one-of-a-kind gifts, we’re here to help you celebrate all the great dads in your life!

I didn’t buy you socks, promise!

Let’s be honest, dads are kinda over socks and ties every year. This year, do something as unique and cool as your dad!

Boyle’s Creations makes the best wood engravings. The key chains here are designed and created by the owner of the shop himself. While they may appear small, they are the perfect gift to remind your dad how much you love him every time he pulls out his keys.

Affordable luxury

Stanley Street Soap Co. is an amazing local artisan booth. While everything they do is great, their wet shave kits are the perfect gift. Each kit comes with a custom shave bowl, handmade shave brush, and lush shave soap. This gift will make shaving an experience rather than a chore.

How cute are these cards?

BB Cards has designed the cutest cards to send and share with all the dads in your life. This local business was started just last year as a way for her to share her art with everyone.

Yummmmm

Twila’s Gourmet Fudge is perfect for the dad with a sweet tooth. Always smooth and creamy, this fudge is made from the finest ingredients. The foodie dad in your life is sure to love this.

Daddy Dinner

Dads deserve more than just a great gift. Make him feel extra special by cooking a delicious meal with local ingredients.

Breakfast in the most important meal of the day! Why not try an omelet, hash browns, and some toast. Black Bear Family Farms has beautiful farm fresh eggs that pair perfectly with spinach from Roots and Grow Farm. The hash browns can be made with potatoes found at Food Dudes. Try making toast with the bread found at Great Harvest and topping it off with jam from either Roots and Grow Farm or Black Bear Family Farms.

After breakfast, spoil dad with a gourmet burger for lunch. Crowfoot J Ranch & Meats is having a Father’s Day special of two T-Bone steaks, two rib steaks, and three #’s of ground beef. Try making some gourmet burgers for lunch and topping them off with micro greens from Lucky Seven Farms.

Keep the meals rolling with dinner. As mentioned above, Crowfoot J Ranch & Meats has an amazing special this week. Grill the dad in your life a steak worthy of him. Food Dudes can help you find the perfect potatoes to mash. To finish off this meal, pair everything with a garden fresh salad. Try adding sweet crisp lettuce from Roots and Grown Farms, and kale from Black Bear Family Farms, to a salad mix from Lucky Seven Farms.

No matter how you choose to celebrate the father figures in your life, we hope everyone has an amazing holiday this weekend!

Happy Father’s Day from the Rexburg Farmer’s Market!

Hi. We need more vendors for the year. People are moving and having babies… who do you know that we could include in the market for the remainder of the season? Please tell your friends, family, whoever! We need more vendors, please?

Also, will you please post on your Facebook wall this week that you will be attending the farmer’s market on Friday? Take time on Thursday or Friday to invite your friends, tell them what is fresh and what to come shop for.  Love craft fairs?  There are very talented craft and jewelry vendors at the market.  Terrific one-of-a-kind gifts are an easy and fun find.  Love to eat?  Fabulous and yummy food, snacks and drinks can be found at the Rexburg Farmer’s Market.  Come support our community!  We need to ALL help advertise and help get people to the market. This will benefit all of us.

Health fair at the market this week!

This Friday, June 28, the Rexburg Farmer’s Market will host its first health fair. Not only do we have great food coming, but we have invited some quality health professionals to join us amongst the vendor booths to talk about good health practices.

Come and join us at the market. We have been told that the dentist representative: Toenjoes, Brizzee and Orme, DDS from St. Anthony will be holding some fun drawings, including a chance to win a free Sonicare Toothbrush, a kids Sonicare, or maybe even a full mouth tooth whitening!

We will also see Dr. Booth from Teton Spinal Rehab (formally known as Back to Health Chiropractic) and the Massage Therapy school (with massage chairs). We are still working on a few last minute surprises, and hope you will spread the news and come join us for a fun and educational night.
Besides, the local produce is starting to come on. We should have local cherries, blueberries, tomatoes, potatoes, summer squash, carrots, peas, spinach, and lots more.
See you there!

Farmer’s Market Week 2

What a great first market night!  Beautiful weather and plenty of people to talk to, it was good to reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones.  Speaking of weather, it looks like cloudy skies and possible rain on Friday so plan accordingly, whether vendor or patron.

Looking for anything specific at the market this week?  Just a few of the things you’ll find will be: fresh asparagus and argula, kale, lettuce, cucumbers, summer squash, red potatoes, radishes, and fresh chives, as well as a wide variety of vegetable and bedding plants.  Artisan breads, homemade honey wheat breads, muffins, kettle corn and a variety of snack and food vendors.  Don’t forget all the crafts and home decor available for gifts.  An ideal date night!  See you this Friday at the Rexburg Farmer’s Market!

Seeking sponsors–Plus, great things coming for the Market!

At the Rexburg Farmer’s Market this year we have been thinking of more ways to involve the community. We are planning some great events plus hoping to get a group called “Market Kids” going, as a way to educate and involve the kids a little more in our weekly markets.  More information will be following in the next few weeks about “Market Kids”.
We, as a market, are trying to purchase a small building to hold our market owned-supplies, increase our marketing reach, and are hoping to get to accept food stamps this year. That all takes funds.
We’re looking for local businesses or entrepreneurs who might be interested in sponsoring the market.  By the way, if you think this sponsorship might work for a company you are employed at, let us know, we would be happy to approach the advertising director.
One thing we would like to do is to create recyclable market bags with our logo on it to remind people to shop at the Rexburg Farmer’s Market. We would love to include your company’s logo on that bag showing your support of the market.  We will also help you maintain an online presence with links and social media.
One event we are exploring is featuring a different company each week during the market. As a gold or silver level sponsor, on your week, you could show up and set up a booth for no extra fees. You could pass out prizes, gift cards, brochures, business cards, educate people, do a hands on activity, or whatever you decide might help advertise your business. We want to show off the wonderful people who support us.We would love your financial support as we gear up to start this season of the 2013 Rexburg Farmer’s Market, and hope you will join us in this adventure.  We aren’t just asking for charity donations, we want to do something in return.  We are looking for anything from $100 to about $1500 sponsorships.   The following will show what each level of sponsorship will include:

Tiered sponsorship commitment and money due before May 28, 2013

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you or your associated company might be interested in this advertising opportunity. (Exchanging links is always good.)

Thanks for your time and your help, we look forward to hearing from you!

Now Accepting New Applications

The 2013 vendor applications are available for download here.  We’re looking for vendors dedicated to bringing our customers the best in locally produced foods and goods every Friday night.  If you know someone who would make a great vendor send them our way, and if it’s you — then apply today!  If there is something you’d like to see sold at the market — let us know!  We’re committed to bringing you the freshest produce and best local products around . . . only 7 weeks until opening day!
